WATCH: My Interview with SBA's Kelly Loeffler on the Fight Against Fraud and DEI in Federal Contracting
Plus more on the FACE Act, and a long-form interview on Minnesota fraud, the 'Minsurrection,' and the Trump administration's Middle East policy
In early January I reported for RealClearInvestigations on the Trump administration’s efforts to purge federal programs not only of waste, fraud, and abuse, but alleged racial preferences — for example in contracting — linked to such corruption.
The Small Business Administration’s 8(a) program, which gives so-called “socially and economically disadvantaged businesses” entrée to tens of billions of dollars in no-bid or limited competition contracts annually, was the key focus of that story. It has been ground zero for Trump administration scrutiny and reform — with major related developments in just the last few days.
Building on my reporting and those developments, I sat down for an extensive interview last week with SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler to discuss her agency’s efforts to DOGE-ify and combat DEI at her agency. Check it out below:
I also discussed the 8(a) program recently on the “Charlie Kirk Show.” Being as this was my first appearance on the show since his assassination, I had the opportunity to reflect on Charlie’s loss at the outset with some heartfelt words. You can find that appearance here or below:
Separately, following up on my recent reporting on the Justice Department’s breathing of life into a dormant FACE Act clause protecting prayer and houses of worship, I appeared on the “RealClearInvestigations Podcast” with RCI Editor J. Peder Zane and Senior Reporter John Varney. We further discussed that story and the related news of the charging of Don Lemon and others under the FACE Act in the Cities Church case out of Minnesota. Check out that conversation below starting at around 19:07, and be sure to subscribe to the show:
In other news, Jewish News Syndicate Editor-in-Chief Jonathan Tobin was kind enough to invite me on his “Think Twice” podcast for a wide-ranging discussion on both the ‘Minnsurrection’ and fraud out of Minnesota — and what it reveals about Democrats in general and Rep. Ilhan Omar in particular — as well as Iran and the Trump administration’s Middle East and Israel-Gaza policy. You can find that interview below:
