Testifying Before Congress Again on Censorship Tomorrow
This time alongside Matt Taibbi and opposite short-lived 'Disinformation Governance Board' head Nina Jankowicz
Tomorrow at 10am ET I will have the distinct privilege of testifying again before Congress on the Censorship-Industrial Complex.
This time I will appear before the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on South and Central Asia for a hearing entitled “Censorship-Industrial Complex: The Need for First Amendment Safeguards at the State Department.”
The hearing is likely to focus on the since-“realigned” Global Engagement Center’s (GEC) domestic censorship work, its impact on outlets like RealClearPolitics and RealClearInvestigations, and how to combat such efforts prospectively.
This will represent something of a follow-up to my testimony from last June before the House Small Business Committee — part and parcel of House oversight efforts that I believe ultimately led Congress not to reauthorize the GEC.
I will be appearing alongside
’ and opposite the former head of the short-lived Disinformation Governance Board, Nina Jankowicz. You can stream the hearing here.
And for a preview, my full written testimony is available here.
